“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”John 7:37, Mathew 11:28, Isaiah 55:1, Revelation 22:7
God created everything on earth for man, but He created man for Himself. Everything on earth on creation morning was given to man to explore, develop and enjoy, All that man requires to successfully do this was given to him- the intellect, the physique and the resources: the same factors are still required today to explore, annex, develop and enjoy the vast resources God provided in man`s external environment. The more of these endowment a man possesses and utilise under God`s influence and guidance, the greater his achievement.
However, central to God`s plan, is His desire for man to have and enjoy uninterrupted relationship and fellowship with himself. Enoch in Genesis 5:22,24, was an example of one who understood this purpose.
“And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”(Genesis 5:22, 24, Hebrews 11:5)
Abraham – the friend of God, and David – the man after God`s heart are other examples. God was happy with them not for what they achieved or possessed but for their fellowship life. Enoch walked with God and God took him. God was so happy with him that they (Enoch and God) walked off the surface of this earth into heaven ( I presume as they were in fellowship together and were discussing and as God often did with Abraham), they
just walked off the surface of this earth into heaven. Enoch never died. He was translated without seeing death. What a wonderful experience! Enoch had a wife, children and properties like other men but they never stood between him and intimate fellowship with his God.
Men lost Eden because of a change of focus, attraction and attention from the giver to the gift. They waned in their commitment to God, submission to His will and obedience to His word. Fellowship with God is central and pivotal to making life`s force hold together. Our enjoyment of the best in this world is hinged upon our right relationship with God the creator of all things. If you occupy a house without knowing or having an agreement with the owner, you will live daily in fear.
Today, much effort is being expended on creating a better life across various fields of human endeavours but the world is never going to get better until the men in the world are created anew in Christ Jesus. It is not that there will be a dearth of good ideas, innovations and inventions in the world but the fact that men – educated men, enlightened men, innovative men, inventors and experts will, by corrupt unregenerate mind, pervert the good and turn them to evil use. An example that readily comes to mind is the writing of computer viruses by highly enlightened and innovative minds. This is why God is concentrating more on calling the man to return to Him.
“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou?”(Genesis 3:8,9).
Whether we like it or not, whether we accept it or not, the realisation of true universal prosperity and peace cannot be divorced from men`s regeneration. When man answers God`s call and returns, when the man is changed, many things around him will change altogether.
The beauty of creation began with God. It is only in God that men and the whole creation can find and reclaim their purposefulness and usefulness. In God, you have everything good that you can be and that you ever can achieve. When you hand over your life to Christ, there is a release of your potentials that helps you to achieve His purpose and all that is good that
your heart desires. Outside God, apart from God, separated from God, life is meaningless, useless, fruitless, and full of frustrations, miseries and disappointments. You are never going to find fulfilment and satisfaction until your life is deeply rooted and grounded in Christ and in God.
No matter how rich you are, how many cars you ride, houses you build, children and other earthly possessions you possess, if you do not know God, if you are not rightly related to God, if you are sinning and continue to live in sin, in spite of all you possess: salary increases, large profit earnings, etc, you are never going to know real joy and lasting peace and happiness. Your life will be void, without form and empty like the earth before the moving of God and His Spirit at creation. Listen to Solomon’s confession:
“ I made me great works; I builded me houses; I planted me vineyards: I made me gardens and orchards, and I planted trees in them of all kind of fruits: I made me pools of water, to water therewith the wood that bringeth forth trees: I got me servants and maidens, and had servants born in my house; also I had great possessions of great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before me: I gathered me also silver and gold, and the peculiar treasure of kings and of the provinces: I gat me men singers and women singers, and the delights of the sons of men, as musical instruments, and that of all sorts. So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me. And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.”(Ecclesiastes 2: 4-11).
Hence, God`s invitation to you as shown in the opening references of this message is “Come”
However poor, rich, weak or strong, discouraged, sorrowful or even happy you are or claim to be “come to the Lord”. Life`s clock turns in different
directions. You may have things going on well for you right now, just like the couples getting married at Cana in Galilee where Jesus turned water into wine. You need an anchor in case things suddenly change for the worse. A hitch-free voyage in life may suddenly turn tempestuous.
However sinful you are, “the blood of Jesus cleanses from all sins” 1John 1:7. It is a waste of time trying to make yourself better. The Lord wanted you to come as you are. Even if you are righteous, God still wanted you in the Holies of Holy, in His inner sanctuary; He wanted you to draw closer to Him more than you have ever been in the history of your life. Try as much as you can, life is never really going to get better until we all return to the Author of life, of better times and of good things.
You must note and remember that –
1. God loves you and wants you to eternally be in fellowship with Him. He is calling you and all men into fellowship and partnership with Himself. Ideal definition of a successful life is one lived as a partnership project with the Lord: finding out God`s will, programme and purpose for your life and fulfilling it. Isaiah 1:16 -20, Mathew 11:28.
2. Satan and sin are the greatest barriers separating God from man Isaiah 59:1,2, 64:6.
3. Jesus is the only solution and hope of freedom from sin and Satan. John 14:6, Acts 4:12
4. Forgiveness is free and full for all who repent of their sins and turn to Christ. 1John 1:9.
5. There are gains (both now and in eternity) when you turn to Christ.
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come”(1Timothy 4:8).
Now you will have freedom from guilty conscience and fear of death, peace and pardon, joy and hope of eternal life, divine presence and guidance, protection, provision, healing, deliverance and prosperity. John 10:10.
In eternity, you will live with God and with Christ. As bonus, you will have anatomical and physiological perfection. We shall have the gift of a new glorious body devoid of earthly limitations and pains. 11Corinthians 5:1,
“For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:”(Job 19:27).
We shall reign over territories. We shall wear golden crowns. We shall live in beautiful and radiant surroundings that surpass human imaginations here on earth. We shall have harmony with wild life, eternal freedom from the Devil and all that is evil. Rest and reward for all services rendered unto God and rendered in His name will all be ours.
However, the word of God makes it clear that those who decide to continue in their sins in this life, will have much and increasing fear, oppression of the Devil, anger of a righteous Judge and creator whose mercy they have despised, misused and rejected. Calamities accidents, woes, sleepless nights, diseases and demons will continually hunt them. Law enforcement agents too will be after them if their sins are against the state or nation. They will eventually become a fugitive and vagabond like Cain. If they die in that condition, they will be judged and cast into hell.
“The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”(Psalm 9:17).
There they will be tormented forever and ever, Luke 12:16-21.
George Wilson was tried in a U.S. court in the state of Pennsylvania in 1829 for capital offence and was sentenced to death. It was at the time of President Jackson. The President issued Wilson a state pardon but he rejected it. It became a celebrated case in the United States of America which was taken to the Supreme Court for a decision. “Can a convicted criminal reject a state pardon”. “If he does what should the state do”. The Supreme Court after reviewing the matter came to a judicial decision that a pardon is of no benefit unless accepted. So George Wilson went to his death.
Many sinners are threading the path of George Wilson today. If you reject the pardon that God offers through Christ, you will suffer. God loves you, Jesus loves you. Save your soul from being wasted. “Come”.
Come out of darkness into the marvellous light of Jesus Christ. Come out of sin into the glorious liberty of the son of God. Come, for all things are ready. Come to the fountain of the rivers of living waters. Come into the Ark. Jesus is the Ark of Salvation that God has given to man to save him from eternal perdition.
Come to Jesus today. The door of grace will not forever remain open. Noah preached for one hundred and twenty long years but in the end, the Ark was shut. Whereas animals were saved, men could no longer be saved, Should animals be wiser than men created in God`s image? Come! Come while there is still opportunity. Once you die, the opportunity of repentance would be forever lost.
Come and inherit the kingdom reserved for you. There is a sure and dead end to a life lived in wanton pleasure and sin. Do not allow sin to ruin your life. Come! Come and enter into the joy of your Lord. Come and take of the rivers of life freely. Come ye yourself apart and rest. Obtain rest from lasciviousness, drunkenness and immorality. Sin leaves an indelible mark on the body, soul, spirit and conscience of the sinner. You can be free today.
Jesus died for you. God is calling you. Come! Jesus is calling you. The Spirit of God is calling you. Come! The Church - the Bride of Christ is calling you. Come!
If you will turn to the Lord this moment, He will receive you, cleanse you, heal you, change you, deliver and help you.
COME TO JESUS, COME TO JESUS, COME, COME TODAY!

Prayer for forgiveness and salvation:
LORD Jesus, I come to you today. I am sorry for all my sins. Forgive me and cleanse me. Come into my heart as my Lord and Saviour. Give me power to
go and sin no more and to overcome every temptation. Thank you because I believe you have heard and answered my prayers. In Jesus name I pray – AMEN.
